Le présent ouvrage d'Abdel-Bâqî Meftah, reconnu aujourd’hui comme l’un des meilleurs connaisseurs de l’œuvre d’Ibn Arabi, illustre brillamment cette richesse. Il propose des clés de compréhension du Livre des châtons des sagesses, fondées sur la doctrine de l’expir du Tout-Compatissant (nafas al-Rahmân) dans les états multiples de l’Être, doctrine exposée par le Shaykh al-Akbar dans le chapitre 198 des Futûhât al-Makkiyya. Ce travail ouvre de vastes perspectives pour appréhender la doctrine akbarienne et la voie du taçawwuf.
Cette édition propose la traduction complète de la troisième version de cet ouvrage salué dès sa première parution en 1998 comme une contribution majeure aux études akbariennes. Conformément à l’édition originale en arabe (al-kashf al-atamm li mafâtîh kitâb Fuçûç al-hikam li-Ibn Arabi, Damas, 2021), cette nouvelle version approfondit encore les interprétations de l'œuvre.
Ibn Arabi (Muhy Dîn Ibn ‘Arabî, 1165-1240)
Connu sous le titre d’al-Shaykh al-Akbar (« le plus grand des maîtres spirituels »), Ibn Arabi est une figure centrale de la métaphysique islamique. Inscrit dans la plus pure tradition islamique, il impressionne par la profondeur de ses réflexions et la clarté de ses explications. Né en Andalousie, il y vit une illumination fulgurante qui transforma sa vie. Il quitta ensuite sa terre natale pour l’Orient, s’installant finalement à Damas, où il s’éteignit en 1240. Son œuvre, d’une richesse inégalée, continue d’influencer l’Orient et l’Occident.
Abdel-Bâqî Meftah
Né en 1952 en Algérie, Abdel-Bâqî Meftah est de formation scientifique et a enseigné durant de longues années la physique et la chimie. Métaphysicien rattaché à la tradition soufie, il est reconnu comme l’un des meilleurs spécialistes de l’œuvre d’Ibn Arabi, à laquelle il a consacré de nombreux ouvrages.
