Né en 1959 à Genève, Hani Ramadan est actuellement le directeur du Centre islamique de Genève. Il y donne le sermon du vendredi depuis 1991. Conférencier et auteur d'une trentaine d'ouvrages, cet intellectuel suisse est un écrivain très apprécié par le lectorat musulman. Ses écrits offrent aux lecteurs une approche actualisée des enseignements de l'Islam.
Halte privilégiée au cours de la semaine, le vendredi est un jour de rassemblement et de recueillement pour l'ensemble des musulmans. La prière en commun précédée du sermon de l'imam sont les points centraux de cette (ré)-union hebdomadaire. Il importe donc naturellement que les enseignements prodigués lors de ces assemblées soient à la portée de tout un chacun, permettant ainsi au croyant, semaine après semaine, d'actualiser sa foi, et de poursuivre son éducation spirituelle, selon les préceptes de l'Islam.Rassemblant une partie des prêches que Hani Ramadan a donnés au cours des années 2011 à 2020 au Centre islamique de Genève, cet ouvrage s'inscrit dans la continuité du premier volume, déjà paru, aux éditions Tawhîd « Sermons du Vendredi » (2011). Il aborde tour à tour les questions essentielles liées aussi bien à la foi et à la spiritualité, au culte et à l'adoration, qu'à l'éthique que doit adopter tout musulman, où qu'il soit. Outre le fait que grâce à ce livre, l'auteur offre aux imams francophones et à leur auditoire une matière précieuse pour leurs prêches, il parvient à transmettre au lecteur toute la profondeur de l'Islam à travers un brillant exposé fondé sur le Coran et la Sunna. Hani Ramadan nous mène aisément vers une vision plus cohérente de la création, du monde et de la foi. Par conséquent, chaque fois que vous prendrez ce livre pour en lire quelques pages, un ou plusieurs sermons, c'est un peu comme si vous ouvriez une fenêtre dans une pièce fermée : l'air et la lumière y pénètrent. Cela est vrai pour l'ensemble des sermons, toujours bienveillants et éclairants.
