This volume has been co-sponsored by the International Secretariat for Solidarity with the Arab People and Their Central Cause, Palestine. The International Secretariat is an international non-governmental, non-profit organization established in November 1979 in Lisbon, Portugal, on the initiative of the Permanent Secretariat of the Arab Peoples´ Congress on the occasion of World Solidarity Day with the Palestinian People. The membership of the International Secretariat represents all areas of the world. The primary work of the International Secretariat is to promote solidarity with the Arab people and most particularly with the Palestinian people. In this case, it supports the strengthening of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which is the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. The International Secretariat expresses its deep respect for all those who worked on this project and to those whose testimony appears in this volume. Their commitment and courage in speaking out in the face of Israeli aggression in Lebanon has led to an important historical record of one of the most heinous crimes ever committed against humanity. The International Secretariat appeals to all démocratie forces in the World to work to prevent Israel from ever again committing the crimes detailed in this work. It urges all men and women of peace and justice to stand with the Palestinian People and to work for the full restoration of their national rights, including the inalienable right of the Palestinian People to self-determination, to return to their homeland Palestine, and to establish an independent State on national soil,
